With over 80% of primary schools in Haiti being private and tuition-based, the cost of education is the single largest barrier for vulnerable families. For an orphan or a child in a family living on less than $2 a day, school is often an impossible dream.

Education as Social Mobility

When a child is educated, they gain more than just literacy. They gain the tools to participate in the formal economy, understand their rights, and eventually, support their own families without external aid. Statistics show that each additional year of schooling can increase a child's future earning potential in Haiti by up to 15%.
